Reliable Agent Execution
The Execution Problem
An agent’s output is only one part of an operational workflow. Tasks can time out, external systems can fail, and repeated actions can create duplicate effects. Reliable execution requires an explicit approach to those conditions.
Engineering Approach
We examine task queues, constrained scheduling, event-driven coordination, idempotency, compensation, and recovery. Deterministic controls can surround probabilistic reasoning so the workflow can be inspected and managed.
Evaluation
Useful tests include interrupted tasks, repeated requests, unavailable tools, conflicting updates, and human escalation. The goal is to understand system behavior before relying on it in production.
Technologies and Methods
Agent orchestration, task queues, event-driven services, and enterprise APIs.
